Some layouts and a new challenge!

I have a new Tami Says challenge on AmyLeigh's Blog! This week is a challenge to use more than one font on your layout...here's my layout, Innocence using AmyLeigh's All Natural Paper Pack, template by Erica and Pea Amy & Elzalice UT reg fonts.

And, in Scrap Orchard news...Mandy Mystiques Designs has joined the store and I for one am super excited! I've been a fan for a long time!!! Here's a layout using her Please Don't Eat the Daisies kit, Simple Pleasures

So You Think You Can Design....Final Week Assignment

This is it! My final assignment for the SYTYCD contest at Scrap Orchard! This week we had to make templates for a hybrid project so I chose the super cute Keyplate Album! Some Layouts...

I've been keeping myself busy lately, since the weather has finally started to warm up! I found out on Sunday that I made it to the last round of the SYTYCD contest! And, this week's assignment is so awesome! The kit designers are making FULL KITS! And, the template designers are creating templates for a hybrid project! I really love hybrid stuff, I don't do as much as I would probably like because my girls just want to get their hands into it all! LOL! But I will whip one up every now and again! So, I'm pretty excited about it...I already have my templates done but I'm going to make my project to have a finished one to show!!! But before I do that I wanted to show off some layouts I made recently.

So behind...

I am so behind on lots of stuff! My computer got a virus and I had to do a whole system restore and it wiped out everything! Luckily, with the help of a friend and a little good sense, I was able to save all my scrapping stuff, pictures and my CS3! So, now that I'm up and running again I am trying to play catch up! I've got a new template to post, I'm working on my Week 3 submission templates for SYTYCD, posting a blog challenge at AmyLeigh's blog, and scrapping! I had finished some layouts before all the trouble so I'll be back to post all of it! Stay tuned and pray for no more trouble!

Great news and Freebie!

I got great news from Scrap Orchard! I made it to the 2nd round of the So You Think You Can Design contest! I'm really surprised but super excited! So, watch for 30 new mini kits and 10 more 2 page templates to be showing up in the orchard over the next couple of days!

My Very First Template!

So, everyone is having so much fun with the So You Think You Can Design contest that I thought I might wanna play too! I made my very first template! WooHoo! If you haven't checked out the Orchard lately you are missing out on some great stuff! So, I'm still trying to adjust to my new camera. I have to admit, I actually thought it wouldn't be that big of a difference and I could just pick it up and that would be it! LOL! Although, the pictures I do get are really awesome, I'm still grabbing for my small camera when I leave...I guess I'm not ready to take my new "baby" anywhere yet. hehe

Well, today is the beginning of So You Think You Can Design! The official rules for designers and template designers is up in the forum and on the blog now! Plus, for all of us "non-designers" there is a contest for each round as well! You can grab the submissions of your favorite contestant (or all of them like I'll probably do!hehe) and scrap a layout with it. Post it in the contest gallery and you could win a $10 gift certificate to the Market! So cool, huh! So, head over here to check out everything that's going on!

And, ScrapShana is officially announcing 2, yes 2, Stores! You can now find her products at ScrapHead.com and Bit2Kits.com and if you use any of her products and post in either of those galleries you might get RAKd! Freebie Day 5 and a little tutorial

Hello! My Nikon D40 finally graced me with its presence at 6:00 last night so I'm feeling extra giving today! I have not only the 5th page but the 6th as well! WooHoo! I know, I know, it's no new camera but hey, it's better than nothing right? LOL! So here are the links to my 2 pages here and here. Also, Kathy and Pam have some pages for you on their blogs!

I've had a couple questions about how to make the bracket albums. First of all, yes you can buy the album! Here's the links to a couple of places I found online,

No, I haven't done business with any of these stores, they are just what popped up on Google! LOL! However, I did buy 12 x 12 sheets of plain chipboard, .30 weight and I cut my pages out myself! I bought the book rings at Walmart for about 96cents. I find it a little more economical to do it that way and the chipboard was a lot easier to cut than I expected!

So, add your pictures to your bracket qp's. Print them out at home or I've heard of some people sending them out to print? You would have to research that a little, I print at home, sorry : (
Then, choose your adhesive. The most popular way to go is Xyron. I use a spray adhesive. You can use Modge Podge but there are downfalls to it, the first being that your ink may smear and second, whenever you use a liquid based adhesive the chances of bubbles or curled edges increases!
After you have glued and both sides are dry, punch your holes. (It was equally as easy to punch the holes in the chipboard as it was to cut!) If you buy the album, you only have to punch through your page!
Then, add your ring and embellish as you wish! That's it!

All of these little hybrid albums are really fun and easy to make, so if you've been thinking about it....go for it! I hope my little instructions have answered some questions!

BTW, I'm sure you expecting some new pics, but for a first time DSLR user...I need a little more time! LOL!
